Certilogo: How to Check Stone Island and C.P. Company

Certilogo is an authentication system used by Stone Island and C.P. Company. It lets you check for free, from your phone, whether a garment is recognised as authentic. Here’s how.

What is Certilogo?

Each eligible garment carries a security label with a 12-digit code preceded by “CLG” (for example CLG 000 000 000 000) and a QR code. Certilogo compares the code’s information with the data registered by the brand and analyses the answers you give.

  • Stone Island: the system has existed since the Spring-Summer 2014 collection (Stone Island and Shadow Project), and since Autumn-Winter 2020-2021 for Stone Island Junior. Some categories, such as footwear and certain accessories, have no code.
  • C.P. Company: the system has existed since the Spring-Summer 2019 collection.

Where to find the code

It is on the security label inside the garment, often near the composition label and washing instructions. Look for the QR code and the string of digits starting with CLG.

How to verify it, step by step

  1. Find the label with the CLG code and QR code inside the garment.
  2. Scan the QR code with your phone’s camera, or enter the 12 digits on the official Certilogo website (certilogo.com) or from the “authenticity” page of the brand’s website.
  3. Answer the questions displayed (about the garment and where you bought it). Answer honestly: the service relies on your answers.
  4. Read the result, which appears within seconds.

What does the result mean?

  • Authentic: the item is recognised as authentic. That’s a good sign, but back it up with the other checks (badge, labels, finishing), as labels can be copied or moved.
  • Not authentic: the item is flagged as counterfeit. You can request a “Fake Report”, which is useful to claim a refund from the seller or your payment provider.
  • Code not recognised or checked several times: don’t jump to the conclusion that the item is fake. Contact Certilogo customer service so they can look into your case.

Good practice

  • Don’t share your code publicly: it could be copied onto a counterfeit. If you are selling an item, only send it to a serious buyer, or let them run the check in front of you.
  • Run the check yourself when you buy: a screenshot sent by a seller can be faked.
  • No Certilogo? An older item (before 2014 for Stone Island, before 2019 for C.P. Company) won’t have one. That isn’t suspicious in itself, but you then need to check everything else very carefully.
