Where to Buy a Genuine Stone Island Badge (Patch or Emblem)
Share
Looking for a genuine Stone Island badge — the famous compass emblem, also called a patch or simply a “badge”? Between official stores, second-hand and online listings, you’ll find everything, including lots of copies. Here’s where to look, in what order, and how not to get caught out.
Badge, patch, emblem: what are we talking about?
These words all mean the same thing: the embroidered piece (compass rose, felt, fastening buttons) attached to the left sleeve of Stone Island garments. “Badge” is the most common term, “patch” is widely used too, and “emblem” is the more formal word. Depending on the words you search for, you won’t find the same listings: try all of them.
1. From Stone Island or an authorised retailer
This is the safest route for a new item: Stone Island stores (online and in person), department stores and partner multi-brand shops. A new badge is normally sold with the garment. If your badge is lost or damaged, you can ask the brand or an official retailer directly whether a replacement exists for your garment: availability depends on models and seasons.
2. On second-hand platforms
Vinted, Vestiaire Collective, eBay and the like: you’ll find standalone badges or “donor” garments. This is where copies circulate the most. A few reflexes:
- ask for sharp photos of the front and back, and compare with our guide real or fake Stone Island badge;
- be wary of a price far below market value: a genuine badge doesn’t sell for a few euros;
- favour sellers with a history and reviews, and pay with a protected method (never a bank transfer to a stranger);
- some platforms offer their own authentication: check what they provide before buying.

3. An authentic second-hand badge from Crest
At Crest, we offer authentic second-hand Stone Island badges: genuine original parts, recovered from garments, with real photos of the item you will receive. They may have been worn, and this is stated. Crest is an independent website: we are not an official retailer of the brand.
4. A compatible badge, if authentic isn’t essential
If you simply want to replace a missing badge for less, there are also compatible badges: embroidered pieces designed to attach to Stone Island garments, often in discreet colours (tonal, black, khaki). They are not original products and are sold as such. The key is knowing what you’re buying: an honest seller never presents a compatible badge as a genuine one.
How can you tell it’s genuine?
- Look at the embroidery: sharp lines, even stitching, no loose threads.
- Check the buttons and the back.
- Check that the colours match the model.
- On a complete garment, use the Certilogo.
No single criterion is enough: it’s the whole picture that counts.
What to avoid
- Listings with no photo of the actual item, or with stolen photos.
- “100% authentic” bundles at rock-bottom prices.
- Sellers who refuse to show the back or answer simple questions.
