Four minutes, no sewing

Most badges can be replaced by hand. Take your time on step 2: that’s where the fabric gets damaged if you force it.

1. 01

   Identify the fastening

   Two slots, a snap button or a hook-and-loop strip. The fastening tells you which item to order.

2. 02

   Remove the old one

   Ease the badge out of its eyelets by pulling in line with the slots. Never force it diagonally: that’s what tears the fabric.

3. 03

   Fit the new one

   Thread the new badge through the same slots, starting on the left. Centre it before pulling it taut.

4. 04

   Check it holds

   The badge should lie flat and not move when pulled. If the slots are worn, replace the eyelets.
